Hello friends!
A little entry about my feelings re: Bohemian Rhapsody, Call Me By Your Name, and Fleabag. (Also some personal things!)
Bohemian Rhapsody
Watched this the day of my ECG, so my memory wouldn't be shadowed by slightly scary medical experiences. It was shit! But so, so, somuch fun. Like Eddie the Eagle, I was able to really get into it regardless of any technical or artistic failings. (I mean, the press conference scene? Unintentionally made me laugh like a beast. Ditto the HIV explanation scene.) We Will Rock You and Live Aid both made me cry, and certain scenes stirred my dormant heart. But basically it was silly fun with songs! (One benefit of seeing it is finally being able to understand what John is going on about...)
Call Me By Your Name
Was 2 for £10 in HMV! Very pretty, the summertime warmth radiated from my telly and into my cold, northern European room. I don't think I could give an rational critique of this film right now, as it's difficult to separate my feelings and projecting from the film itself. Great film though! And doesn't Timothée Chalamet look young?
Fleabag
This one really hit me from nowhere. Don't want to reveal too much, but I'm definitely the target audience for this show. From episode three onward I realised that it was less shallow X-rated Miranda for the Tinder Generation, and more heavyweight critique of the porni- I'll stop there. Just watch it, it's not what it appears to be!
As for me, I'm currently going though a series of tests to see exactly how fucked up my heart is. Bloodtests came back clear, and I'm getting the big daddy of scans (Ultrasound) next Wednesday. I don't think being diagnosed will affect my daily life so much, so I'm not that worried. Should I be worried? It's all going over my head if I'm honest.
On a more positive note, you all need to watch/listen to the new Greg Davies RHLSTP asap! Utter madness, and Richard desperately asking Greg if he would have sex with him at the end was the cherry on top.
