I travel up to Edinburgh next Friday! I am so, so excited.
- Stay Tuned! (チャンネルはそのまま!) is a miniseries about the running of a local television station, with each episode focusing on a different job role. As a bit of a broadcasting nerd, I really enjoyed this show and learnt lots about jobs I never would've thought of before, like scheduling and master control operators (watching live tv to check for mistakes). Also, the plot is surprisingly good!
- Bit late to the party, but I've been watching Fresh Meat! Lots of familiar faces and I'm getting way too invested in the characters. (I am 100% a Howard, lol.)
- While I'm waiting for Good Omens to come out on DVD so I can join in the fun party all yous seem to be having, I watched Takin' Over The Asylum, a drama from 1994 about a radio station in a fictional psychiatric hospital in Glasgow. BBC Scotland are currently repeating it with a big picture of a twenty-something David Tennant as the thumbnail so I couldn't not watch it... It's really good! Episodes come out every Saturday, so I'm looking forward to the next installment.
- Nabod y Teip finishes tonight, say it ain't so... ;-;
Films
- Barefoot Gen was not as distressing as Grave of the Fireflies, but pretty bloody close. Basically, it's Hiroshima through the eyes of a child and his pregnant mother. Fun for all the family! (I cried through pretty much the entire film, which even for me is something)
- Rewatched The Wind Rises! What a good film.
Books
- Reading Great Teacher Onizuka (again). A reformed gangster turns to teaching, and uses his unconventional skills to win over his high school students.
- Might try tackling Paradise Lost for a second time...
I travel up to Edinburgh next Friday! I am so, so excited.
